One problem that many couples have is having the passion die after being in a relationship for a while. In the beginning of a relationship, it is exciting and fun and there is still a mystery. After a while, the novelty can start to wear off, which—while it may seem devastating—is actually perfectly normal for many couples. However, even though this is a relatively normal occurrence, it may feel like you want to keep your relationship healthy. The last thing you want is your boyfriend or girlfriend losing interest in you.

Reigniting that spark can be difficult. You want to be able to feel like you both care about each other, but going about making that feeling come back may feel impossible. Couples can have a hard time coming up with ways to make the relationship stay fun and worthwhile.

Many people often turn to jealousy. While that may seem extreme, a little jealousy in a relationship can be a good thing, the problem is making it go overboard. Neither you nor your partner wants to do anything that can jeopardize your relationship, so it is important to know how to make your partner jealous without crossing a line or taking it to an extreme. So how do you make sure you are still interested in your significant other and vice versa using jealousy? It can feel like a tricky line to walk, but actually making your significant other a little jealous can be easier and more innocent than you think.

Before you begin your journey toward using jealousy to your relationships benefit, it is important to stop and think about why you are doing what you are doing. Are you trying to make your significant other jealous because of fear of cheating? Do you think that your relationship is over and you are only trying to make them jealous as a last ditch resort or to win them back?

If your reasons for making them jealous revolve around already having an unhealthy relationship, trying to make your partner jealous now may do more harm than good. Make sure that you are not trying to fix a lost cause, as making your partner jealous shouldn’t be a way to solve major relationship problems. If you think your relationship could be strengthened with a little healthy dose of jealousy, the key steps to doing it are to hang out with your friends more often, get some distance, and look good for yourself.

Hang Out With Other Friends

One thing that can kill any couples spark is spending too much time together. After a while, it can be easy to get annoyed by each other or simply not have anything to talk about. This can make the relationship become uninteresting fast. Not only does spending too much time with your partner make the relationship suffer, but you have likely been spending less time with your friends anyways as you have been so caught up with your significant other.

Take some time to go out and see your friends. Go visit other people. Not only with you have something new to talk to your boyfriend or girlfriends about, but you will also probably start to miss them and they will start to miss you. This is a great reminder to both of you for how much you care about the other person. You are allowing you both to realize that, even though your relationship may not be as exciting as it once was, that you both love each other and would be sad if the other was gone.

Get Some Distance

Having out with your friends can be a great way to relax and catch up, but it is also important to have your own personal time while you are in a relationship as well. Go out and play that video game that you’ve been wanting to play since before you got in a relationship or hike a trail that you’ve been wanting to do. Have fun by yourself. This can allow you to get down time as well as making your partner excited to see you and more happy to go and do things with you when you are done with your personal time. Not being worn out with another person’s presence can make seeing your partner feel more substantial when they do arrive.

Look Good For Yourself

Dress up nicely! It may seem really simple, but going out of your way to make yourself feel nice can make an impact on you and your partner. Go get a haircut, or buy some new clothes. Go out to make yourself feel confident and sexy. If you feel that way, your partner is sure to take interest as well.

Simply allowing yourself to be removed and go do other things can be one of the best ways to get your significant other to feel a little healthy dose of jealousy. Don’t be afraid to take a step back from your partner, as it can help your other relationships and yourself become a better more well-rounded person as well.
